performitorium taxi
i took this taxi during one of the nights during the performatorium show
at neutral ground gallery. however, instead of going to the show, i went
to a friends house. the taxi was decorated with a disco ball, curtains,
and pillows. the driver offered free mouthwash, condoms, and dental
dams to participants. overall, i felt that the taxi coincided with the
theme of performatorium, and a free taxi service was a great accessory to
any art show.
living skies film festival
this
festival consisted of student films from across canada and the u.s. bryce and i were lucky enough to have our submissions nominated for best
documentary. the awards gala, complete with a red carpet and paparazzi,
did a good job of making the students feel like a-list stars.
pass the hat
pass
the hat is a comedy show featuring local up and coming stand up
comedians. the
show is hosted at the exchange and features both amateur and veteran comedians. the show typically is very small and informal, which is
suitable as many of the comedians are performing for the first time.
robocall rally
this rally took place in victoria park to protest the recent federal election with accusations of election fraud. to promote this event, the organizers put on a flash mob at cornwall center. this rally was put on by the same organizers that put on the occupy regina protest. because of my documentary regina:occupied, i was asked to be a photographer at this rally.
the rally being hosted at victoria park was a good way to involve the public, because many protesters with signs stood beside the street to enable drivers to honk to show their support.
film pool
this field trip to the film pool was very enlightening and relevant to be as i am a film student. this was the first time i have been to the film pool and was very impressed by the facilities, equipment, and courses offered.
unfortunately, with the governments recent tax cut, the film pool will suffer to a large degree.
